Radiofrequency Ablation of Liver and Renal Masses

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is used to treat inoperable tumors within the liver and kidneys. The procedure uses a heat-generating, rapidly alternating current through a probe inserted into the tumor, guided by an interventional radiologist using an imaging modality (such as ultrasound or CT) to destroy the tumor.
