Venous Access

For some patients, regular access to the bloodstream is required to facilitate the delivery of medications and/or nutrients over a longer period of time. During a venous access procedure, an interventional radiologist inserts a special catheter inside a vein within the neck, arms or legs and positions it within a large central vein that leads to the heart.
